Our pre-purchase surveys include attending the haul out for bottom and running gear inspection as well as sea trial. We suggest the operator run the engines at full throttle to assure they perform as expected.
On sailboats, we suggest a qualified rigging company be hired to perform a full inspection aloft.
Our inspection of machinery is restricted to visual observation and performance under load. We suggest a qualified technician be retained to perform compression tests on gasoline engines, access of the Electronic Control Units (where applicable), and on inboard/outboard vessels, checking the drive unit lubricant for possible water contamination.
