Duane “Dewey” Ives, president of Precision Marine Surveyors, got his start working hands-on with boats as a mechanic before moving into marine surveying in 1989. Precision Marine Surveyors was founded in 1995, and has been S.A.M.S. accredited since 2000 (AMS #629). Dewey Ives has been performing damage inspections and cause of loss investigations for over 25 years, and is uniquely qualified to provide accurate and reliable claims services. He will advise reasonable repair or replacement information and, most importantly, investigate and identify why the loss occurred.
We have been deployed with Catastrophe Claims Teams in Florida, the Gulf Coast and along the U.S. east coast, responding to areas impacted by natural disasters, especially hurricanes, in the crucial first week following the storm.
Dewey was elected Skipper of the Tampa Bay Mariner’s Club (TBMC) for 2017 – a non-profit organization in the Tampa Bay area dedicated to community outreach and providing education and networking opportunities to maritime industry professionals in the Tampa Bay area.
We perform many pre-purchase and insurance evaluation surveys, primarily locally in West Central Florida, but we have also performed claim inspections throughout the state and southeast.
